Highlights of a September 25
Maine Audubon trip to Thomaston Flats were:
a first-year Baird's Sandpiper, 6 Dunlin, 6 White-Rumped Sandpipers, 6 Least
Sandpipers, over 60 Semipalmated Plovers
and over 600 Semipalmated Sandpipers, 2 Merlins and 2 Peregrines. In the Weskeag
Marsh, there were 14 Greater Yellowlegs
and 2 Lesser Yellowlegs, a first-year Pintail, 3 Great Egrets and 6 Snowy
Egrets.
