Downeast Sampler 2005

Sandi and Bob Duchesne led a sold-out trip to sample the delights of Downeast Maine on August 13-14. The star of the show was a Minke Whale that played with the group aboard the Sylvina W. Beal for fifteen minutes, repeatedly swimming under the boat and resurfacing on the other side. Other highlights included MANY Harbor Porpoises, MANY MORE Harbor Seals, Greater Shearwaters, Northern Gannets, Black Guillemots, hundreds of Black-legged Kittiwakes, and a zillion Bonaparte's Gulls. The group sampled shorebirds, sea ducks, and Bald Eagles.
